D30 is an orange dilatant material which has the particularity of changing its mechanical behavior depending on whether it is deformed slowly or quickly.
Handled slowly, D3O resembles playdough, but when shocked, it absorbs and disperses energy before instantly returning to its soft state
D30 is made up of “floating” molecules that are fluid but capable of “locking” together and instantly (less than 10 milliseconds) in the event of an impact. As soon as the impact has passed, the molecules return to their fluid state. In addition, it is not water resistant, heat resistant, is washable (up to 40°C), can be cut to any shape and can also be perforated, to facilitate air circulation.
